Gummi Hansen – Tooling Concept and Tool Types

Efficient coordination of internal and external processes

Precise drawings and 3D CAD solid models form the basis for developing our high-quality metal vulcanisation moulds. The design, size and number of cavities of these tools depend heavily on the geometry of the final product, the rubber compound used, the manufacturing process and the required service life of the component.

Mould making is a complex challenge, where concepts are developed in parallel with part design. Thorough planning is crucial for process-reliable and cost-effective manufacturing.

Our vulcanisation moulds are manufactured by turning, milling or EDM (electrical discharge machining) and, depending on the production process, can be designed as single or multi-part compression and injection moulds. For transfer moulding, for example, we require at least three-part piston moulds with matching injection channels. Permanently installed injection moulds are additionally equipped with guided cores or ejector rails.

In our extrusion department, we manufacture the dies directly in-house using state-of-the-art wire EDM machines. This allows us to produce die plates with diameters from 50 mm to 400 mm in just a few hours, enabling us to offer extremely short response and delivery times.

With our focus on precision, the seamless integration of our processes and the continuous optimisation of workflows, we guarantee our customers fast response times and minimise friction losses. Let us work together to implement your projects efficiently!
