Moulded Rubber Parts and Bonded Components

Structural Components for Technical Applications

Rubber mouldings & bonded components

Rubber-to-metal Bonded Components, Rubber Mouldings and Precision Parts

Rubber-to-metal bonded components combine the elasticity of rubber with the strength and stability of metal. As composite solutions, they are ideal for technical applications where flexibility, damping, and resilience are equally required. Our rubber-to-metal parts are custom-developed for diverse fields of application and manufactured as high-precision rubber mouldings. The combination of these materials creates versatile products—ranging from rubber buffers and machine components to sealing elements and specialized parts for vehicle construction.

Precise Rubber-to-metal Bonding

For a permanent bond between rubber and metal, proper surface preparation and treatment are critical. Using specialized primers and chemical bonding agents, we create resilient rubber-to-metal connections with high bond strength.

Production is carried out using custom-designed moulds tailored for rubber-to-metal bonding. This allows even complex geometries and demanding precision parts to be realized economically and reproducibly. Depending on requirements, various metals and elastomer grades can be combined, such as aluminium composite parts.

Seals, Sealing Rings and Buffers

Our portfolio includes a wide variety of rubber-to-metal seals and sealing rings. They are deployed wherever reliable sealing must be combined with specific elastic or mechanical properties.

Rubber buffers and rubber-to-metal buffers are another proven application. For instance, they absorb vibrations and shocks while safely transmitting mechanical forces. For the automotive and vehicle construction industries, we manufacture tailored rubber-to-metal products built to exact customer specifications

From material selection and design through to final production, we develop custom solutions for demanding technical applications. Whether you need a rubber-to-metal seal, sealing ring, rubber buffer, or a complex bonded element—optimal material bonding and reliable component performance are our highest priorities.

  • Platen sizes from 300 x 300 mm up to 1,800 x 1,800 mm
  • Compression and transfer moulding

Injection Moulding

Our process-reliable machines are electrically heated and are ideally suited for large production runs, components with high dimensional accuracy, and large-volume parts. Vulcanisation takes place at temperatures exceeding 200°C. Precise compounds, permanently installed and directly heated tooling, predefined demoulding planes, controlled processes, and short cycle times ensure maximum economic efficiency.

  • For small parts: 300 x 300 mm

Custom Machinery

Moulded rubber parts for special requirements are our speciality. These include large-volume or flat, planar complex components as well as rubber sheets made from all types of special compounds. The items are manufactured using dedicated vulcanising presses, which are steam or electrically heated and designed to accommodate the corresponding tooling. Hydraulic demoulding devices ensure short cycle times.

  • Injection moulding machines with large clamping areas and corresponding injection volumes

Rubber-to-Substrate Bonding

Components made by bonding different materials are used across all industry sectors. They combine the uniquely positive properties of the respective materials to create specific functionalities. For instance, rubber-to-metal elements feature the elasticity of rubber while simultaneously providing the structural strength of metal. We can realise a wide variety of material combinations.

  • Material combination: rubber-to-rubber
  • Material combination: rubber-to-metal
  • Material combination: rubber-to-fabric
  • Material combination: rubber-to-thermoplastics

Bonding Types

Where bond strength requirements are low, mechanical interlocking partial joints are sufficient. In contrast, incompatible materials and components with high specifications require the application of primers to the metal or fabric, alongside chemical bonding agents, to achieve high-strength adhesive bonds. For rubber and plastic combinations, direct bonding is the ideal method.

  • Mechanical interlocking joints for components with low requirements
  • High-strength adhesive bonding through the use of primers and bonding agents
  • Direct bonding with compatible materials

Enhanced Performance Through Professional Process Coordination

Metals & Preparation

Iron, steel, aluminium, brass, bronze, and copper are used as structural reinforcements. For a durable bond, the proper pretreatment of the metal parts is of paramount importance. To remove the existing oxide layer and increase the surface area, we blast and degrease the metals before applying primers and chemical bonding agents. This process also provides the required corrosion protection.

  • Various metals are used for bonded components
  • Tailored chemical bonding agents are used depending on the specific rubber compound

Mould Concepts & Toolmaking

Exact drawings and 3D CAD solid models usually form the basis for a coordinated and coherent concept for highly capital-intensive metal vulcanisation moulds. The design, size and number of cavities of the moulds are largely determined by the component geometry, the compound used, the manufacturing process and the targeted lifespan of the component.
